WP9.1 - Creation of a net of demonstration sites for prescribed burning
The creation of a net of demonstration sites for prescribed burning will cover a wide variety of situations and geographical locations from subtropical Canary Islands to Northern Europe. These sites will also demonstrate the variety of objectives that can be achieved by prescribed burning.
FIRE PARADOX will set up the methodology to choose, implement and run useful prescribed burning demonstration sites, both in shrub lands and forest stands. Large burns are a major priority. Results from previous EU projects will be use in homogenising common protocols.
When available, images from the site before, during and after burning will used. With all the information collected we propose to create a network of demonstration sites.
